Just so you know, you may be hearing from my blog more now that I got my new IPHONE. I just realized how easy it is to post on my blog from my new IPHONE. I can sit in the comforts of my bed and post on my blog with my new IPHONE. It's pretty great. I don't have to go searching for my computer, wherever it may be. I can just sit in my bed and use my new IPHONE. It's great. Maybe you haven't heard, but I recently got a new IPHONE and it's improving my life in every possible way. In fact, every day I learn some way my life can be improved by my new IPHONE. And I guess blogging with greater frequency may be one of those benefits (or maybe it'll burden you more. Especially those of you not important enough to live your life to the fullest with your new IPHONE. )
I wonder if this technically makes me even lazier than Michelle. She definitely has the drive and desire to get out of bed and locate her computer. For me, it's just not worth it. I might go look for that computer every few days. She's much more ambitious than I am. But I guess it's typically more than a few inches from her lazy fingertips anyway. Sounds like maybe she could use a new IPHONE.

Tapes
A few years back, when I was a post teen, I loved to go to billions of concerts. My mom was so baffled by this and she would tell me, "honey, why don't you just buy their tape?" So aggravated I'd reply, "mom! Get off my back! They don't even sell tapes anymore!"
Well, last night my mom proved me wrong. I went to a little concert and they were selling tapes on the merch table. And I bought one. But maybe I got the last laugh because I went to the concert AND bought the tape.
Either way, I'm way excited. I love tapes. They're probably the most hearty and durable music storage device. I know the sound maybe isn't the greatest, and I think I've lost my touch when it comes to rewinding and fastforwarding. But man, you can have a tape in your pocket without its case, and you're fine. You can leave your tape sitting on the dash of your unlocked truck and no one tries to steal it. Try and top that, iPod and cd.
One more thing, I really love making mix tapes. It's so much more involvement. Especially mix tapes from records. There's something special about such an act of deliberate inefficiency. But still, I love making them. If anyone still even owns a tape player, besides me, maybe I'll make you a mix tape. (if I like you enough.) Just let me know.

Today
I measured and weighed my students because they had no idea what they were in American numbers. It was really cute. I thought they'd be embarrassed to step on the scale. But nope. They were so excited. They lined up and I helped them read their weight.
Oh, and also, I have this kind of loud and lively, chubby Iraqi student and everyday she comes in the class and pokes me and whispers in a breathy voice "barbie". I'm not totally sure how I feel about it.

This Is What Happened In Church A Couple of Weeks Ago...
The girl who was speaking said this:
"A few years ago my parents had a little Spanish girl living with them. She was from Mexico."
Why did that happen? If a girl is from Mexico, is she not a Mexican?

Boo.
I wrote this really long awesome post about the OC, and somehow it didn't publish. I just don't have the heart nor the energy to write it again. Sorry. Maybe I will. Soon.

I Found Love
At the library. One of my favorite places in SLC to find new loves. (Others include Liberty Park & bus stop). I was looking for a book when out popped Markus, my new love. He approached me like this:
Markus: Whoa! Do you see that? Look at that. Have you seen that?
He was pointing down at my foot.
Me: My scar on my ankle? Yeah, I've seen that.
Markus: Wow. I have the same scar!
(Shows me his scar. Proceeds to tell me that he was the #2 college football player something something last year, but now can't play because of his calcium deposits in his ankle).
Markus: You got calcium deposits in your ankle like me.
Me: No, it's from an accident. Not calcium deposits.
Markus: Yeah, just like me. Calcium deposits.
Me: No, I broke bones. It's not from calcium deposits.
Markus: Yeah, me too. Calcium deposits.
(I give up).
Me: Yep. Same.
Markus: Can I touch it? Can I take a picture of it?
Of course. Of course.
Me: Do you like scars?
Markus (bewildered, awed): Huh? Wow. How did you know that? Wow. How did you know I like scars? Wow. I just moved to Salt Lake. Anything fun to do here?
(I try telling him places to go, like dance clubs since that's usually what I think people mean when they ask questions like that. I can tell he's not listening to one word I say.)
Markus: Wow. That's amazing. Wow... Wow...
Me: What? The Hotel, yeah. It's great.
Markus: You got the most beautiful eyes I ever seen. Wow. I can't believe it. They're all green and yellow. Wow. I want to draw your picture.
(He pulls out his portfolio with his art in it. Really awesome eagle drawing done with ballpoint pen and candle wax. WISH I had cash with me).
Me: Beautiful. I love your art.
Markus: You want to have mixed babies with me? They're the most beautiful babies...
And that's the moment I KNEW I had found love.
